Oli Powell is aged 24 and has an identical twin brother, Will and the best little sister in the world Georgia Beth. He has lived in North Wales all his life.

Cancer has affected Oli’s immediate family and friends. Oli’s grandfather was diagnosed with bowel cancer 8 years ago. Oli watched cancer change his Grandfather’s life and has been deeply moved to see his Grandfather’s strength in continuing to live life to the full. A close friend of Mike Peters, Oli also supported Mike through his recent successful battle with leukaemia.

Oli has studied music technology for 4 years. A musician himself, he now also works with rock bands The Alarm and Buzzcocks. Oli has worked closely on other music projects with fellow Everest trekker and engineer, Tom Grimshaw.

Oli has a passion for skiing, football, golf and swimming and is looking forward to the challenge presented by Everest Rocks.

Special thanks to Oli’s Dad, Mum, Grandparents, Leanna, Will, Georgie, Jamie, Carol, Jules, Mike, and all Oli’s family, friends and work mates.

Ade was born and grew up in Wales but now calls Australia home after a 14 Month overland journey from Cardiff to Sydney in 1995. This only ignited his travelling passion and he has visited over 70 countries since. When not sea kayaking or climbing in Sydney you will find Ade mountaineering, trekking or travelling in all parts of the world: he claims to have climbed, trekked and had drank a beer on all 7 continents. Ade is our head guide for Everest Rocks.

A note from Jamie

September 4th, 2007

“I can’t describe how excited and honoured I feel to be part of this project. It’s always been my dream to visit The Himalayas, but the purpose of the project is to help those with cancer, which makes it an especially important project for me. I lost both my parents to it and was only 10 when my mother died. Also my sister, Lis, beat breast cancer 11 years ago. I feel extremely privileged to be part of a great adventure that will help in the fight against cancer.”
