George– we are proud of your efforts for the Love Hope Strength Foundation and your leadership on creating awareness for the New Jersey stem cell research ballot referendum. Your family, Union County and New Jersey are ALL behind you!
George,
You never cease to amaze me. As always I am so very proud of you.
Everyone knows someone who has or had cancer. It is time for a cure!
We know this is especially meaningful now though you signed on to this before we were aware of my situation.
When you ski I always tell you “watch out for the trees”. Your comment back is “I ski trees”. In this case I best not say anything! I am sure you will relish this great adventure for such wonderful, deserving causes.
With all my love and support,
Mom
George,
As our family’s ‘big brother’, you’ve been the one to set the pace & standards for your younger siblings. Once again, you’ve raised the bar! Being your only sister, I’ve always been able to look up to you & count on you. Yes, we’re only human & I’ve put you on a pedestal; but for me you’ve proven to be a super hero on so many levels and simply continue to astonish me. My own practice in the Healing Arts underscores my faith in the healing power of music and all that this journey represents. Rock on, Brother! I love you! Namaste, XO Suzy
Hi George - I’ve only just got round to reading your profile and found your story amazing. Similarly to you, Mike (and Jules) have inspired me to get involved and I’ve been helping James by setting up LHSF in Australia. Looking forward to meeting you in October - and enjoying some Alarm/Mike Peters music along the way! Cheers, Matt
:grin:Hi George - how odd we met around the world on The Alarm’s message board (originated in Wales) because of the Music Fest in Union County. At first I did not even know who you were and what you did until 2 messages later when I finally asked who you were. Then I realized just how small this world is because ironically we’re from the same area of Union County . Of course I was blown away too that you are the County’s Manager and you got Mike Peters for us 2 years in a row! I am amazed how instrumental you are in getting our county to be involved by hosting the Walkathon. Glad to see not only are you hosting the event but are an active participant yourself! All of which for such a worthy cause and for the love of our favorite band! More happiness to hear that the members of The Fixx are joining the gigs at the Mount Everest Base Camp. I will proudly walk and volunteer at the LHSF Rock on Walkathon and Music Fest! Good luck to you George through out the entire journey to see this great achievement unfold and turn the battles of cancers to triumphs! Sincerely, Sherri Maloney (aka Rockerchic on the message boards)
A huge “Thank You” from Morris County NJ! A friend had emailed me about the Music Fest, knowing that I’d love to see The Fixx, The Alarm, and The English Beat. My 13 year old son was diagnosed with cancer over three years ago and I felt overwhelmed when I saw that someone from NJ was trekking for this great cause. Good luck, have fun and God bless. Sincerely, Michele Y.
I feel that looking from the side line there should have been more than one charity. I feel that there should have been one like feed the children, babies with aids, homeless babies. I feel that Jerry’s kids could be in the list too. If in the future you need help give me a call and i can get major information for you to make this happen I can be found in echo lake yard. God Speed. Amen.
George, As per our conversation today, farewell, and touch that mountain for me! We are all behind you! Namaste!Vaya con Dios! best wishes from this Everest Junkie who is afraid of heights!
I work for Union County and I just wanted to tell you that the MusicFest was awesome. It was an event that was a credit to the county and served a very honorable purpose. Congrats on the MusicFest and best wishes on the trek.

As Ernest Hemmingway said,
As I stand here ready to climb this
mountain, I remind myself that after
I fall several thousand feet down, the
mountain will still be here…
